Section 1 – ClickNotes for Windows and MacOS (Lemon Squeezy)

ClickNotes Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for ClickNotes subscriptions.

ClickNotes is offered as a monthly subscription service at $14.99 AUD per month, with payment processing handled by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record.

IMPORTANT: Lemon Squeezy is responsible for payment processing, billing, and refunds. All payment-related matters are governed by Lemon Squeezy’s terms and conditions.

Your Consumer Rights:

Nothing in this Policy limits or excludes any rights you have under:

• The Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
• Other applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction
• Lemon Squeezy’s Terms of Service and refund policies

2. Subscription Model

2.1 How Subscriptions Work

• Price: $14.99 AUD per month (or equivalent in your local currency)
• Billing: Automatically charged monthly, processed by Lemon Squeezy
• Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• Payment: Processed by Lemon Squeezy through your checkout
• Trial Period: 14-day free trial for new subscribers

2.2 What You Get

Your subscription provides:

• Full access to all ClickNotes features
• Software updates and bug fixes during your subscription period
• Access to the free Panel Library templates
• Customer support via email

2.3 What Happens When Subscription Ends

If your subscription lapses or is cancelled:

What Happens:

• 14-day grace period with full functionality and warnings
• After grace period: View-Only Mode (view and export, but cannot edit or use text injection)
• Your local data remains on your device permanently

What Does NOT Happen:

• We do not delete your panels or data
• We do not lock you out completely
• You can export your data anytime

To Restore:

• Resubscribe through clicknotes.app → Instant full access restored

3. Cancelling Your Subscription

3.1 How to Cancel

You can cancel your ClickNotes subscription at any time through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal.

To cancel:

1. Visit the link in your subscription confirmation email.
2. Email support@clicknotes.app and we will assist you

Your cancellation will be confirmed via email.

3.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect

• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• You retain full access until the paid period expires
• You will not be charged again after cancellation

3.3 Your Data After Cancellation

• Your panels and data remain stored locally on your device
• You can export your data anytime (File > Export All Panels)
• Reactivate subscription anytime to restore full functionality

4. Refund Policy

4.1 14-Day Right to Cancel

If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel your subscription and receive a refund within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason.

To request a refund within the 14-day period:

• Email: support@clicknotes.app, OR
• Contact Lemon Squeezy directly
• Include your order number

4.2 How Refunds Are Processed

Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record.

• Refunds are issued to your original payment method
• Refunds are typically processed within 5-7 business days
• You will receive confirmation via email once processed

4.3 Effect of Refund

If you cancel and receive a refund:

• We will reimburse all payments received from you
• We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel
• We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction
• You will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement

4.4 After 14 Days

Refund requests made after the 14-day period are handled by Lemon Squeezy at their discretion on a case-by-case basis.

To request a refund after 14 days:

• Include your order number and details

5. Free Trial Terms

5.1 Trial Duration

• New subscribers receive a 14-day free trial
• Trials are available once per user
• You have full access to all ClickNotes features during the trial

5.2 During the Trial

• No charges during the trial period
• You can cancel anytime during the trial to avoid being charged
• Full functionality is available

5.3 Trial Cancellation

To avoid being charged:

• Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends
• Cancel through Lemon Squeezy customer portal or contact support@clicknotes.app
• Lemon Squeezy will send a reminder email before the trial ends

If the trial ends without cancellation:

• Your subscription begins automatically
• You will be charged $14.99 AUD (or local equivalent)
• You can still cancel to prevent future charges
• The 14-day refund right applies from the date of first charge

6. Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Rights

Under the Australian Consumer Law, you have guaranteed consumer rights that cannot be excluded.

6.1 Consumer Guarantees

ClickNotes must:

• Be of acceptable quality – Free from defects, safe, durable, and acceptable in appearance
• Be fit for purpose – Suitable for any specific purpose you told us about or that would normally be expected
• Match descriptions – Match the descriptions, promises, and demonstrations we made

6.2 Your Remedies Under ACL

For Major Failures:

If ClickNotes has a major problem, you can:

• Reject the product and get a refund, OR
• Reject the product and get a replacement

For Minor Failures:

If the problem is minor and can be fixed within a reasonable time, we will:

• Repair the software (provide updates/patches), OR
• Replace the software, OR
• Refund if repair/replacement is not possible

6.3 Making an ACL Claim

If you believe ClickNotes has failed to meet consumer guarantees:

1. Contact us: support@clicknotes.app
2. Describe the issue and how it fails to meet guarantees
3. We will respond within 5 business days

7. Subscriptions

7.1 Automatic Renewal

Paid Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. We’ll notify you if the price of a Paid Subscription increases and, if required, seek your consent to continue.

7.2 Cancellation Timing

If you wish to cancel your subscription, please do so at least 48 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your cancellation will take effect at the next payment date.

7.3 Failed Payments

If we cannot charge your payment method for any reason (such as expiration or insufficient funds), and you have not cancelled your Paid Subscription, you remain responsible for any uncollected amounts. We reserve the right to cancel your Paid Subscription if we are unable to successfully charge your payment method to renew your subscription.

8. Billing Errors

If you believe you’ve been incorrectly charged:

Duplicate charges:

• Contact support@clicknotes.app immediately
• We’ll investigate and process refunds for confirmed duplicate charges

Subscription continued after cancellation:

• Check your Lemon Squeezy customer portal to confirm cancellation was processed
• Contact support@clicknotes.app if charges continued after confirmed cancellation

Unauthorized purchases:

• Secure your payment method immediately
• Report unauthorized charges to your bank/card issuer
• Contact support@clicknotes.app to cancel the subscription

9. License Terms

9.1 Single Subscription

• One ClickNotes subscription provides ONE license key
• The license key can be used on multiple devices
• Panels and data are stored locally on each device (no automatic sync)

9.2 Personal Use License

• Each subscription is licensed for individual use only
• License keys are non-transferable
• For teams/practices: Each user needs their own subscription
• Contact support@clicknotes.app for team/business inquiries

10. System Requirements

Please verify your system meets minimum requirements before subscribing.

10.1 macOS Requirements

• macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
• Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel processor
• 8GB RAM minimum
• 100MB available storage
• Accessibility permission required

10.2 Windows Requirements

• Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
• Intel Core i3 / AMD Ryzen 3 or equivalent
• 4GB RAM minimum (8GB recommended)
• 200MB available storage
• 1366×768 display or higher

10.3 Cross-Platform License

• One subscription works on BOTH macOS and Windows
• Use your license key on any supported platform

11. Changes to Pricing

We may change subscription pricing with 30 days’ notice.

• Existing subscribers will be notified via email
• Price changes apply to renewals after the notice period
• Your current billing cycle continues at the old price

If you don’t agree with a price increase, you can cancel before the new price takes effect.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top will be revised. Material changes may be announced via email or in-app notification.

Your continued use of ClickNotes after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

Payment transactions are governed by Lemon Squeezy’s Terms of Service.

For Australian consumers, this Policy is also subject to the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer rights under the ACL.

For other jurisdictions, your local consumer protection laws may provide additional rights.
